Product Safety Alert – Holiday Gift Daily #66
Traditionally, the end of the year is a time of conviviality and togetherness. Giving presents is an undeniable part of this. But what should you pay attention to when it comes to the safety of these presents? There are still many unsafe products on offer. You do not want your loved ones to be hurt.
Tree-shaped Decorative LED lamp
Today we draw your attention to a decorative LED lamp that can cause an electrical shock to the user. It is a tree-shaped decorative lamp with 84 non-replaceable colorful flower-shaped LEDs. The lamp is recommended for outdoor use and was also sold online. It is packaged in a transparent plastic bag. The notifying country is the EU member state of Hungary.
The accessible wires have inadequate insulation. The LED lamp is not protected against moisture but is recommended for outdoor use! A user might touch accessible live parts and suffer an electric shock. In addition, the cables are too thin. They can overheat, leading to a risk of fire or burns. This product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60598.
This lamp was withdrawn from the market and we advise consumers that have already purchased this product to cease using it and contact the dealer or retailer where it was bought.
