Product Safety Alert – Holiday Gift Daily #58
Traditionally, the end of the year is a time of conviviality and togetherness. Giving presents is an undeniable part of this. But what should you pay attention to when it comes to the safety of these presents? There are still many unsafe products on offer. You do not want your loved-ones to be hurt.
Self Balancing Scooter from Oxa
Today we draw your attention to a hoverboard from Oxa. This self-balancing scooter is for use as a personal transport device. It comes with LED lighting, a lithium ion battery (36 V 4400 mAh) and a battery charger model: FY0634201500E. The packaging is a colourful cardboard box. This hoverboard was found in the EU member state of Hungary.
The battery does not have a device that monitors the cells' temperature, hence it may overheat during charging, and the hoverboard cover may ignite. The product may cause a fire and the user may suffer burns.
The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and of the European standards EN 60335 and EN 62133.
This product was withdrawn from the market and we advice consumers that have already purchased this product to cease using it and contact the dealer or retailer where it was bought.
