But what should you pay attention to when it comes to the safety of these presents? There are still many unsafe products on offer. You do not want your loved-ones to be hurt.

We are here to keep you up to date on the latest developments in product safety. We monitor closely products that are being withdrawn from the market because of included hazardous parts. On the other hand, we provide information on details you should look out for when purchasing products that are still available.

Novelty lighter in the shape of a gun

Today we draw your attention to a novelty lighter in the shape of a gun that children can easily mistake for a toy. Unfortunately it is not sure who the manufacturer is, therefor we advice you to take a good look at the photo underneath. This lighter was found in Cyprus.

The lighter is appealing to children and can easily be mistaken for a toy. Children may play with it and suffer burns or cause a fire. No lighter should be appealing to children.
The product does not comply with the requirements of the General Product Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 13869.

It is withdrawn from the market and we advice consumers that already purchased this product to cease using it and contact the retailer where it was bought.
